Post Christmas gulit trip

Hello again everyone!  It's been a long time.  I have had a busy few months with the new house and what needs doing to it coupled with a new job about to start.  It was time I moved on from my last one and I start the new one in a couple of weeks now and want to look good (ish) when I start, so need to lose the few pounds I have put back on over Christmas.  I also need to tone up as I have been sitting watching too much tv.  I luckily have a new programme - Thanks, Oliver xx and intend to swim and walk and maybe even go to the gym in the next week or two.  Happ

Back into it

I haven't blogged for a while so thought i really should. University has finished, i'm now 21 and i have just picked up my first proper project as a video editor so a fair bit has changed since the last time i wrote my blog. Fitness wise, i'm now playing in a 5 a side team that consists of my 3 younger brothers, my Dad and cousin so that will keep me fit during the summer months along with surfing and running.

Walk the walk, not just talk the talk

Congratulations to Phil and Nerys - my friends who have recently had their first baby.  We are all so chuffed for them - couldn't have happened to a nicer couple.  The lads were even more chuffed as it gave us a great excuse for a night out in Cardiff to wet the little chap's head.  As most of my friend's are married or partnered *sigh*, we rarely get the opportunity to do this sort of thing - so it was quite an event - and I hadn't seen many of them for a while - including my friend David.

Landmark- Hooray!

Brilliant news - I have just bought a new pair of jeans - 'What's brilliant about that, I hear you say- They're a size 12, that's what!  Yes, after a plateau and a struggle, I started to lose weight and continue toning up (an essential when losing weight).  I was a size 16 but not any more.  True I have just given a nice navy suit to a charity shop, but hey!

Lack of focus

So i'm guessing that this is really common with people who exercise. I think its called the wall or maybe just a complete lack of focus or motivation but whatever it is, it's really difficult to get back into the habit of exercising again. The football season ended and although i feel that i should continue to run and keep up with my ibodz program, it's just not happening.

Time for a new workout program?

So, i'm sitting here watching the Aussies battle away against England, even though they don't really have a chance in the cricket and for some reason its triggered off my lack of blogging over the past few weeks. Although i haven't been blogging, my workout is still well on track and has almost got to the point that it is getting rather easy and i'm continuously changing it up. The press ups still hurt and the shoulder presses are always difficult but i can see a difference particularly when playing football.

Going again

Hello, just to let you know that I am back onto it again, and despite a set-back period, putting 1.5lbs back on birthday week, losing 1 lb the following week then not losing, I think I have found that the magic way of doing it is to write down EVERYTHING you eat ion a day! It seems to make a big difference to me to put down whether I have pigged or not.  When I have had a good day with food I can be proud of myself in black and white, as it were. Give it a try and see if it works for you!

How the Nike+ lady enhances my running experience

I've always been a runner. I ran at school because I could never apply myself to sport. I run for the train, as I'm always late (for everything). I run at the gym because I find it easier than lifting weights. But I wouldn't say that I enjoy it.

My new party piece: extended planks

One of my favourite core exercises is the plank.  I can't tell you why, but they certainly beat a V crunch. But then anything does. Planks bizarrely cropped up in a discussion around my best mates Ed and Cath's house the other night.  I don't know why - I didn't start it.  However, since doing the iBodz thing, my friends seem compelled to talk about fitness in my presence.

On track

I feel as though the past week has gone quite well considering my university schedule has gone through the roof and that my groin has decided that it will not heal. In fact i've actually been worried all week that i've got a hernia and not a groin strain but thankfully i found out yesterday that it is just a strain which is a relief. I actually think i managed to strain the groin whilst doing one of my workouts involving jumping squats, hence to say i didn't include them in my schedule this week.
