This time last year I had tonsillitis and I was feeling very sorry for myself and all I did was put my feet up, watch TV and over indulge. This year I face a different crisis…my gym has shut down until January to have the changing rooms re-floored! What am I going to do?! My gym card allows me to attend any other gym in a council owned centre across East Lancashire…but they are not my gyms. It has completely messed my routine up.
And suddenly as I type this I realise I need to get a grip! It’s only a gym. And honestly, am I really going to be going over the Christmas period whilst I am off work for 11 days? I might you know.
In the meantime, have any of you tried out the new iBodz Fitness Test? I have and I can tell you it’s flipping hard work. My heart was pumping like a maniac after completing the squat thrusts, which incidentally are my weakest exercise. I’m actually ‘below average’ in them, but ‘excellent’ with press ups and the wall squat. I definitely need to work on my cardio to improve my score which doesn’t surprise me given the fact I have been focusing more on weight training and adding muscle rather than the cardio element. I think a good mix of both is required.
Finally I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a wonderful and healthy New Year. Get your thinking caps on for your health related resolutions and make them realistic, that way you will stick to them.

New years resolution
Like many of you out there (im sure) one of my goals is to lose some weight and so im going to sign up and try the fitness test - its scary though, ive tried to lose weight before by not eating carbs after lunchtime and that didnt work, just made me feel rubbish!
Hope you can get back in to your gym now Graham, routine is very important for me - and you it seems.
