I tried to do some boxing earlier today. Enough said. In other less ridiculous looking news (honestly I cannot believe how difficult it is to co-ordinate your feet and your arms at the same time without tripping yourself up), this week has been Adventure Week.
On Monday I went White-Water Rafting in Wales. I spent more time in the river than the raft but loved every minute of it. A scorching day, good company, brilliant instructor and never stopped laughing the whole time…and man did my shoulders ache the day after from paddling.

On Friday I did Indoor Skydiving in Manchester and that is without doubt, one of the best experiences I have done in recent years. It’s not easy to master and your whole body aches the day after but wow, what a feeling to be weightless and floating up, down and spinning around. I would recommend everyone to do it. I have added a picture to this blog which shows me and the instructor (Adam).
Which brings me on to motivation. I am seriously lacking it at the moment. Since I have been so busy at work my swimming schedule has ground to a halt, BodyBalance has ceased completely and the weights have been skipped because of adventures and general lack of enthusiasm.
So how do I sort this? Well I finally got myself into gear today and tried boxing with a punch bag which was good, worked up a good sweat, did some skipping too (if you box you MUST skip of course!). For the next 5 weeks my work schedule is free to allow me time to swim and I am going to try some different cardio from Yoga such as circuit training. I think mixing it up a little will help.
If anyone has idea for motivating me more let me know.
Graham.

More Indoor Skydiving
I enjoyed this so much I am doing it again in October with a mate. really looking forward to it. Plus they have been sending my discount info to try and get me going more often which is very tempting.
And yes...it's a great workout for you whole body trying to keep in position.
It sounds like you are having
It sounds like you are having a wonderful time getting to your goals. I would love to take a white water rafting trip! I do swim quite well but I don't get much of a chance too because of work. I do intend to continue with my training though.
That looks like SO much fun!
That looks like SO much fun! I bet it really gives you a workout too, trying to keep arms and legs where they belong! I am just plugging along on my treadmill and stepper trying to get my cardio in on that instead of exciting things like this!
Love it!
I would love to try out the indoor sky diving! It looks like so much fun. I would say this would be quite a workout too. I think you have to keep your arms and legs at certain points for it to work correctly, don't you? Anyway, I'm envious!
I wish I could skip. The
I wish I could skip. The skydiving looks great-I didn't know you could do it indoors too. Presumably it would be safer than jumping out of a plane!
Skipping
When I did the boxing I did some skipping for the first time in YEARS! Probably since primary school in fact. It's an exhausting workout but I felt great at the end. My friend said that sometimes if there isn't space, she will pretend to skip and just wave her arms about and jump - you don't actually need the rope.
I love your photo! I'm not
I love your photo! I'm not sure-I struggle with motivation too to be honest, and I have a lot further to go than you. All you can do is keep your original reasons for getting healthy in mind.
