Chocolate Covered Snorkel Fairies

Scuba Diving Introduction

I’ve often wondered if anyone reads these blogs.  Am I simply rambling to myself or are people avid readers?  Well to my surprise, having gone back to look at previous musings, not only do people read these ramblings but they comment on them too!  How great is that?  So a big hello and thanks goes to those people who reply back, often with support and advice which is much appreciated.

From time to time I create a title that is a little play on words such as the “If it wasn’t for those pesky kids” from Scooby Doo or “M for muscle, B for belly” as an homage to Dial M for Murder.  But this time I thought I would create a completely bonkers one that would definitely have you hooked!

As you know I am addicted to chocolate and I’m finding it very difficult to give up which is why my body fat percentage is poor.  So I went and had some EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), to help me get my craving sorted.  I know you may not be into alternative therapies and medicine but let me just say “WOW”!  The results have been incredible!  I was eating about 3 or 4 bars of chocolate per DAY but since having EFT I have had 1 in 5 days.  I had the smallest chocolate muffin ever and a small square of 70% dark chocolate.  Now for me that is a major change.

Rather than me spouting on about what EFT is, just search for it on the web and see for yourself, but as far as I am concerned it’s great.  I have a bar of 85% chocolate in my fridge and I’m not all that bothered about having any.  MIRACLE!

On Wednesday I went for a 2 hour taster session of scuba diving in a pool at the Manchester Aquatics Centre.  Now I’ve done quite a few interesting activities these past couple of years for my list of 40 things to do before I’m 40 but this was amazing.  Starting to scuba in a pool was actually good as there was that comfort zone, but the feeling of being underwater and able to breathe and just swim along and see the world from a totally different angle took me by surprise.  Of all the activities I have done, this is one I will do again and I am really looking forward to a holiday where I get the chance to scuba.

I’m on holiday next week, but staying home, so plenty of opportunity to hit the weights and do cardio.  So until next time…enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.

I never heard of EFT before, thanks Graham for sharing it. Like you, I love eating chocolate but I try to stick to the dark ones because of their antioxidant properties.

I'm very curious about the EFT. I have been told about this before and completely ignored it as just one more of the odd things one is told about controlling one's unhealthy urges such as overeating or an addiction to one food or another. Now that you have said it has been working, I'm willing to explore it. Thanks for the tip!

I'll have to check up on the EFT! I really need some help to stop compulsive eating. I eat when I'm not hungry, just if I'm bored or frustrated. I think if I could conquer that, I wouldn't have any problem losing the extra weight. And congrats to you on your successes.

Good on you Graham! I think I

Good on you Graham! I think I would seriously blow up if I don't have a bit of chocolate occasionally but I do limit it-severely. I think the scuba diving is absolutely brilliant! Good luck on hitting the goals on your list!

Awesome

Well done Graham. I'm impressed that EFT has been so successful for you! However, after googling it did take me a moment to work out that it wasn't an 'Electronic Funds Transfer' that had helped you to reduce your chocolate intake!
