If It Wasn’t For Those Pesky Kids

The summer holidays have arrived and the Government have stopped free swimming lessons for kids and the “Recycled Teenagers” (as my mother calls herself), which basically means my swimming schedule has been cocked up for the 2nd year in a row.

It used to be that 12.00pm to 1.00pm was adults only, but now every kid in 3 boroughs descends on the swimming baths there is no way I am likely to get an swimming done so that’s made a mess of my cardio routine.

So what do I do?  Well I’m going back to circuit training on Monday which I am looking forward to and dreading in equal amounts; I have started the normal running again despite my hatred of it and might even do a bit more.  I may even go back to BodyBalance for a while because I do like the yoga/pilates session.

Other than that my friends and family are trying to kill me.  And no I am not over exaggerating at all.  It was my birthday on Monday and the main staple of the presents I got was chocolate!  Now you know me…I love my chocolate, but still.  Come on!  Black Magic, Maltesers, 750g bag of Cadbury’s mis-shapes, Thornton’s Viennese Truffles and more.

So what have I done to combat this overload?  Eaten some of em and put the rest on top of the kitchen cupboards out of reach and only when I really really deserve it can I get to them by getting the step ladders out of the shed and reaching them.  Has that worked?  What do you think?!

Be inventive. Think of

Be inventive. Think of something besides swimming to change up your routine. That will give them time to get out of the pool and give your body a bit of a shake up too. Look at it as a win/win.

Suggestion for you.

I have a suggestion for you. If you still want to continue your swimming as part of your cardio workouts, have you thought about "renting" the pool at a local hotel? I do that for aqua exercises in the winter time since the gym I belong to doesn't have a swimming pool. They rent time to be very cheaply and I get to enjoy my workouts during the day without interruption for the most part.

Ah well, if those pesky kids

Ah well, if those pesky kids were not in the swimming pool they'd be annoying you somewhere else or playing football against your car. Maybe this is for the best?! Enjoy your chocolates!
