Walk the walk, not just talk the talk

Congratulations to Phil and Nerys - my friends who have recently had their first baby.  We are all so chuffed for them - couldn't have happened to a nicer couple.  The lads were even more chuffed as it gave us a great excuse for a night out in Cardiff to wet the little chap's head.  As most of my friend's are married or partnered *sigh*, we rarely get the opportunity to do this sort of thing - so it was quite an event - and I hadn't seen many of them for a while - including my friend David.

How the Nike+ lady enhances my running experience

I've always been a runner. I ran at school because I could never apply myself to sport. I run for the train, as I'm always late (for everything). I run at the gym because I find it easier than lifting weights. But I wouldn't say that I enjoy it.

My new party piece: extended planks

One of my favourite core exercises is the plank.  I can't tell you why, but they certainly beat a V crunch. But then anything does. Planks bizarrely cropped up in a discussion around my best mates Ed and Cath's house the other night.  I don't know why - I didn't start it.  However, since doing the iBodz thing, my friends seem compelled to talk about fitness in my presence.

Mayhem in Marbella

I'm very excited. Just booked flights for a trip to Spain at the end of August for Cristina and Brian's wedding.  It's my first wedding abroad and I expect it to be a slick affair.

My regime continues with gusto

How time flies.  I can't believe it's almost been a week since I last blogged!  That wasn't actually because I wasn't inspired enough to share my musings - I've actually been so busy, I haven't had time to draw breath, let alone attempt the dreaded V crunch... but more on that later.

That was hard, but it's a start...

Those of you reading my blog entries and thinking, he hasn't exercised in a while - would be right.  I could come up with a whole host of reasons why not, but then we would be here all night and I really want to catch the 2nd episode of this week's brilliant 'Torchwood - Children of Earth' which starts at 9. Yes - I'm afraid I'm a sad Sci-Fi geek.

The new iBodz has arrived...

It was a bit touch and go as these things tend to be. But with nervous anticipation, we finally pressed the button late Thursday afternoon on July 2nd 2009. It was done. Nearly ten months in the making and iBodz II had arrived.

Stepping up to the pedometer challenge

Putting the finishing touches to the all new iBodz with Oliver is taking up the majority of my time, so that leaves little space in my diary for working out.  Therefore,  I have been striving towards finding other ways of fitting exercise into my already tight schedule.

Oliver suggested the other week that I should invest in a Pedometer to see exactly how much exercise - in the form of walking - I was managing to achieve each day.  Never one to turn down a challenge, I agreed to trial a Pedometer to analyse how far I walked on average.

My cardio workout now includes Salsa

don't know if I am fairly unique - but I have a life’s tick-list.  The tick-list is stored in my head and contains various things that I would like to accomplish before I die.  I started to compile my list when I was about 8 from the time I saw JAWS at the Universal Studio Tour, LA on a travel program called ‘Wish You Were Here!’.  It took me until I was 33 to get there – but I wasn’t disappointed – somehow retaining some of that childhood excitement.  Other accomplishments have included passing my driving test to flying for the

How do you fit exercise into a busy schedule?

Despite the complements that ensued from the uSwitch reunion last week, I will be the first to admit that I am really struggling to maintain my fitness regime. The time pressures and stresses of getting iBodz off the ground, the regular commute to London from my base in Cardiff, in addition to occasional evening bar work which is now my social life, leaves little time left to spare to even think about exercise. I am so time-poor, I can't actually remember when I last sat down for more than an hour to watch the TV.
