Which are the most common injuries when one begins on a training regime of, say, running a few miles a day, and how can they be prevented?

A difficult one as everyone

A difficult one as everyone is different and lifestyle will largely affect how your body has developed. The best advice I can give is start slowly if you haven't exercised a lot before and look out for sharp pains as they are a sign something is wrong. If you're running outdoors then wrap up warm at this time of year as cold muscles are easier to injure, if running indoors then be sure to warm up on a slow speed before reaching your top level.

If you do have any sharp pains then do seek advice from a health care professional who can look at and evaluate any injured body part.
