Plank Hurt My Hand

I was in plank pose yesterday and afterwards the outside of my right hand started to hurt whenever I put weight on it. What did I do wrong?

My teacher taught us press up

My teacher taught us press up position with our hands on the floor. The pain was gone by the next morning and subsequent planks went well, so I guess it wasn't a big deal. I'm just not sure what I did.

You may have just rolled it

You may have just rolled it awkwardly getting up and trapped/clipped something. I did something similar in the week picking up my bag and couldn't use my thumb for a few hours but it was fine the following morning and has not been an issue since.

When I perform the plank or have my clients do so, I always rest on my forearms. Were you doing this or were you in the press up position with your hands on the floor? Is the pain still there or has it passed with rest?
