Side cramps!

There are 2 routines in zumba that have been giving me problems (side cramps). I do not eat before I work out and I drink plenty of water throughout the workout. What could be the cause of these cramps?


When you say you do not eat

When you say you do not eat before the workout, do you mean at all through the day or just for a specified period of time before hand? How is your hidration through the day (not just while working out)?

If it isn't to do with either of these then I would suggest strengthening the muscles in question. I assume from side cramps we are talking about the obliques (the side of the upper body). Side planks held for as long as possible upto 60 seconds should help with this.
